Description
Coordinate-plane practice becomes a rescue mission in this 5th grade escape room. Students work through seven puzzles to locate Agent Axis, using ordered pairs and first-quadrant graphing to pass security checks, find combinations, solve a logic challenge, and decode the mission.
Math skills students will practice
- Plotting ordered pairs in the first quadrant
- Reading and writing coordinates
- Interpreting points in real-world contexts
- Using coordinate-plane vocabulary, including origin, x-axis, and y-axis
- Navigating through the first quadrant
- Evaluating true-or-false statements about points and ordered pairs
The problems align with 5.G.A.1 and 5.G.A.2 and are intended for students who have already been introduced to the first quadrant of the coordinate plane.
Choose print or digital
The printable escape room contains seven student puzzle sheets in both color and black-and-white formats. It is low prep and easy to organize for partners or small groups.
The digital version is no prep, self-checking, and automated through Google Forms. There are no clues to hide, and only one optional mission-tools page is suggested for printing. Students do not need Google Classroom or email accounts and can participate on an internet-connected computer, tablet, or phone.
What is included
- Quick-start guide and digital escape-room link
- Optional Google Form copy link
- Mission-tools support page
- Printable color and black-and-white escape rooms with seven puzzles
- Answer key and teacher tips
Many students complete the mission in 30–45 minutes. It is a useful option for coordinate-plane practice, geometry review, enrichment, math centers, early finishers, or a collaborative activity before an assessment.
