Description
The referee is missing, and your 4th graders must use long division to save the game! Students solve division puzzles, decode clues, and find a locker combination as they complete Operation: Retrieve the Ref.
This digital escape room is automated and self-checking in Google Forms. There are no clues to hide, and students do not need Google accounts. The activity supports 4.NBT.B.6 and provides an engaging alternative to a traditional long-division worksheet.
Division skills students will practice
- Using the terms dividend, divisor, and quotient
- Dividing three-digit whole numbers by one-digit divisors
- Dividing four-digit whole numbers by one-digit divisors
- Solving long-division word problems

All problems have whole-number answers with no remainders. Students may use area models, place-value reasoning, the standard algorithm, or another suitable strategy.
