Description
Six secret-agent restaurant puzzles drive the practice in this 4th grade 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication escape room. First, students confirm their identities, order the correct appetizer, find a door code, and decode combinations while completing the mission.
4th Grade Multiplication Skills
Students practice the following skills:
- Multiplying a two-digit number by another two-digit number
- Using an area model, partial products, place-value reasoning, lattice multiplication, or the standard algorithm
- Reading directions carefully and using products to decode ciphers and combinations
The math focus aligns with 4.NBT.B.5. Therefore, students may use the multiplication strategy taught in your classroom.
Choose Print or Digital
The digital version runs through Google Forms™ and is automated, no prep, and self-checking. Students do not need Google Classroom™, Gmail™, or email accounts; instead, they only need an internet-connected device and browser.
Meanwhile, the printable version comes in color and black and white. It offers a hands-on setup with detailed implementation directions. Because this option requires some cutting, clue placement, and answer checking, it takes more preparation than the digital version. Four puzzles can work with combination locks, but locks are not required.
