Turn Beginning-of-the-Year Math Review Into a Daily Escape Room Puzzle Challenge
The first few weeks of fourth grade usually involve quite a bit of review. Students need time to refresh the skills they learned in third grade, and teachers need a chance to see which concepts may need some extra attention.
That review is important, but it doesn’t always need to look like a traditional worksheet.
In Dr. Caspian’s Deep-Sea Logs, students take charge of an underwater research lab and complete a different math challenge each day. They may need to decode a message, unlock a password, guide a submarine, analyze research data, or solve a problem involving unusual lab equipment.
The resource includes 20 regular challenges and four bonus challenges. Most puzzles take approximately 5–15 minutes, making them easy to fit into an existing classroom routine.
