The Gingerbread Man has escaped and locked your students inside the bakery. To find the key, fourth graders solve math puzzles, decode clues, and outsmart the runaway cookie.
This 4th grade winter math escape room now includes a complete black-and-white printable packet and a self-checking Google Forms™ version. Both formats follow the same bakery storyline and practice the same standards-based skills. The story features gingerbread but does not mention Christmas or any other winter holiday.

The digital version runs through a self-checking Google Form™. Students need an internet-connected computer, tablet, or phone, but they do not need email addresses, Gmail™, Google Classroom™, or individual Google accounts when using the Quick Start link. An optional copy link is included for schools that require forms to originate within their own system.
The printable version is a low-prep black-and-white escape room that works without student devices. Print the introduction, five clue pages, and success page. Give groups the full packet, or distribute one clue at a time after checking each answer.

Flexible winter math practice
This is a challenging activity that works best with partners or small groups. Use it before winter break, in math centers, for cooperative review, enrichment, early finishers, homeschool instruction, tutoring, or substitute plans. Most students finish in under 45 minutes, although allowing up to 60 minutes is safest.
All information needed to solve the puzzles is included, so students never need to search the web.

No. The story and puzzles feature the Gingerbread Man and a bakery, so the escape room can be used before Christmas break or at another time during winter.
