Looking for an engaging 2nd grade winter math escape room? In this snowman-themed activity, students use their math skills to help a snowman escape from a mysterious snow globe.
This resource includes both a black-and-white printable escape room and a self-checking digital Google Forms™ version. Use the format that works best for your classroom, or use both.
Students solve three puzzles as they race to find the combination to a lock, discover where a key is hidden, and determine the correct order to push a set of snowflake buttons. It is a fun worksheet alternative before or after winter break and works well for review, math centers, partner work, small groups, snow day activities, or a whole-class challenge.

Quick Escape format
This activity is designed to be completed in approximately 20–45 minutes, although completion time varies by student and classroom.
Printable and digital options
The printable version is completely black and white for easy classroom printing and photocopying. Students begin with the introduction and work through three full-page clues before reaching the success page. Give students one clue at a time, print the entire escape room as a packet, or use it with individuals, partners, small groups, or the whole class.
The digital version runs through Google Forms™ and is automated and self-checking. Students cannot progress until they enter the correct answers. Students do not need Google™ accounts for the Quick Start version; they only need an internet-connected device. A Copy Form option is also included for teachers who want to save the form to Google Drive™, collect names, view responses, add hints, or make classroom adjustments.
