$4.99

Students pose as art buyers to recover a stolen painting in this long division escape room. Fifth graders divide up to four-digit dividends by two-digit divisors, work with remainders, and apply 5.NBT.B.6 while decoding five connected spy puzzles.

Includes color and black-and-white printable versions plus a self-checking Google Forms™ activity. Use the complete mission or separate print puzzles for centers, stations, partner work, review, or test preparation.

Description

Long division practice does not have to mean a page filled with twenty nearly identical problems. In this 5th grade mission, students pose as art buyers and use division clues to recover a stolen painting before it disappears.

Students will practice:

  • find whole-number quotients with up to four-digit dividends and two-digit divisors
  • solve division problems that result in remainders
  • apply the expectations of 5.NBT.B.6 while decoding clues and messages

Five puzzles are included in both printable and digital formats. The print version comes in color and black-and-white and can be split into task cards or short review stations. The digital version is self-checking, has no clues to hide, and runs through Google Forms without requiring student Google accounts.

This is best used once students have learned a division strategy and are ready to build fluency, accuracy, and persistence with two-digit divisors.
