This back-to-school digital escape room gives rising seventh graders a relaxed way to review several important sixth-grade skills while collaborating and getting to know their classmates. The math is intentionally approachable: the goal is to encourage teamwork, rebuild confidence, and begin the year with a successful shared challenge.

Escape the deserted island
Each completed math challenge reveals another piece of the route home. Finding the area of right triangles opens a backpack combination. One-step equations point students toward a clue. Coordinate-plane questions reveal a message, and rate and ratio problems help the team determine its GPS coordinates.

Do students need Google accounts?
No. Students only need the activity link and an internet-connected device.
How long does it take?
Most students finish in 35–45 minutes. Students who are comfortable with the review skills may finish in about 20 minutes, while groups that use the recording page may need longer.
Will the form save student progress?
The form may not save an unfinished attempt. If students need to stop between sessions, have them record their answers so they can quickly return to their stopping point.
